A little pearl in the Swedish (Gothenburg) djungle..
Har haft en strålande dag med min barndomsväninna Emelie, och den tillbringades nere vid Eriksbergs-kajen i Göteborg. Jag skulle vilja påstå att Eriksberg är Göteborgs egna, hemliga Saint Tropez. Alltså den stekiga delen av Göteborg, som ännu är lite okänt för de flesta. Här kan du få en rykande färsk espresso på någon av de Italienska cafèerna, dag som natt, äta lokal krabba i kvartersbistron, eller riktigt lyxa till det med bohusostron och champagne på den internationella fiskrestauranger River Cafè. Allt är på gångavstånd. Här finns allt för plånbok och smak. Människorna som florerar är allt från stekiga hipsterkillar med bar bringa, till ryska turister med stor plånbok. Här solar medelåldern på bryggan, och i ett hörn har tre herrar bänkat sig framför starköl och engångsgrill. Det doftar nytänd grill, starkt kaffe, blommig parfym, havssälta, barrskog, fisk från trålen, frän motorolja och svett. Om jag skall beskriva denna stadsdel vill jag metaforiskt beskriva det som ett bohusländskt Nice, Feske Tropez, eller en något försvenskad Riviera. Känslan är go. Att något så somrigt och inbjudande bara finns 10 minuter från centralstationen. Dofterna är somrigt berusande. Om jag skall ge turisterna i Göteborg ett tips denna sommar; Åk till Eriksberg. Did have a great day with my childhood friend Emelie today, and we spent the time in Eriksberg, a city part in Gothenburg. I would say that Eriksberg is the secret little Saint tropez-spot in Gothenburg. It`s really the bratty part of Gothenburg, which is still little known to most people. Here you can get a good espresso at one of the Italian cafes, eating local crab in the bistro around the corner, or really indulge in Bohusoysters and champagne in the international (expensive) seafood restaurant, River Café. Everything is within walking distance. This part of town offers everything for wallet and taste. The people that are flourishing is a great mix of hipsterguys with bare breast, Russian tourists and Swedish wannabees. In one corner, three men is sitting and drinking beer and are just about to start their own little BBQ. It smells revival grill, strong coffee, floral perfume, sea-dwelling, coniferous forest, fish from the trawl, engine oil and sweat. If I should describe this neighborhood, I metaphorically describe it as a Swedish Nice, Fish Tropez, or something like a Swedish Riviera. The feeling is cozy. This is something really summery and inviting, and only 10 minutes from the Central Station. The smells are intoxicating summery. If I will give the tourist in Gothenburg a tip this summer; Go to Eriksberg. A pearl in the Gothenburg Jungle.
