ICON=Swedish version of Vanity Fair?
Har egen-tid nu på eftermiddagen då jag bara umgås med mig själv, innan jag skall träna NIA och Zumba i två timmar. Ett mysigt cafè, en bra tidning eller bok och något gott i muggen eller som idag; en hallonyoghurt med musli, är en perfekt avslappnande måndagseftermiddag. På bordet ser ni det senaste tillskottet i min enorma tidningssamling; Tidningen ICON. Visst, modemagasin i all ära, men mer och mer lämnar de mig med en eftermak att de inte tillför speciellt mycket i mitt liv, mer än för viss reseach då och då och när jag vill bli lite visuellt stimulerad. Näe, modebloggarna jag följer ger tillräckligt med modeinspiration. Men jag har hittat ett nytt magasin som ger mig det jag vill ha; Magasinet ICON. Det är lite som det populära kulturprogammet Kobra i Sveriges Television, som scannar nutida konstnärliga yttryck runt om i världen. Jag skulle också vilja säga att det är som en svensk version av mitt favoritmagasin Vanity Fair. I programmet Kobra tas olika intressanta teman upp som, Guide Michelin och varför brittiska tidningen News of the world lades ned, och det gör att jag verkligen känner sig sådär riktigt kulturallmänbildad. ICON är lite av samma skrot och korn som Kobra tycker jag. Allmänbildande och intressant. I det numret ni ser på bordet hade de ett grymt reportage om kocklegenden (i sushi) Nobuyuki Matsuhisa (Grundaren av Nobu-imperiet), Ett porträtt av Stephen King och ett snyggt modereportage från Rio de Janeiro. Det får nog bli en prenumeration på den tidningen i år.
I`m having some time for myself now, just before the NIA and Zumba-classes, I`ll will have in about an our. A cozy cafè, a good magazine and a raspberry yogurt with some delicious muesli on top, makes the perfect afternoon-monday. On the table you`ll see the latest addition to my huge magazine collection - the magazine ICON. Sure, fashion magazines are great, but increasingly they leave me with the taste of not that much inspiration any more. Well, yeah for some fashion research or visual stimulus, from time to time it`s good, but fashion blogs give me that on a daily basis, and that`s more then enough. BUT. This magazine ICON gives me what I want. It`s a bit like the cultural program Kobra on the Swedish television, which scans the contemporary artistic expressions around the world every week. I would also compare it to a Swedish version of the magazine, Vanity Fair (one of my favorite) In Kobra it is various interesting themes such as, a documentary about the restaurant Guide Michelin and why the British newspaper, News of the world, was buried, and it makes me feel that I`m very cultural educated for the moment. Its like weekly doses of cultural, on a high level. So general formation and interesting. The magazine issue, you`ll see in the table, had a great story about the (sushi) chief legend Nobuyuki Matsuhisa (The Nobu-empire founder), a portrait of Stephen King and smashing fashion shoots from Rio de janeiro. I`ll will properly fix a subscription to the magazine this year.
