CONCERT REVIEW

Jaha, då var konserten med Woody Allen and the New Orleans jazz orchestra över.

85% av tiden kunde jag inte låta bli att tänka på helt andra saker än att koncentrerat lyssna på den lite amatör-aktiga spelemannen Woody Allen.

Förhoppningen var att han skulle hålla lite monolog i micken mellan låtarna men där fick jag fel. Allen satt på sin stol med benen i kors tillsammans med sina mer proffsiga kollegor och spelade pipigt i 1,5 timma.

Skall erkänna att det inte alls var för musiken jag kom utan för att han proffessionellt sätt är de bästa regissörer vi har i mina ögon och jag ville se vad han hade att leverera. Ingen kan skapa dialoger och relationsdramer som han med den mixen av psykologi, filosofi och identitetsfrågor han ofta laborerar med i sina filmer.

På film briljerar han och är ofta i centrum för uppmärksamheten men ikväll, på scen verkade han snarare skygg och ville helst smälta in i bandkollektivet genom att sitta på sin stol och bara spela på sin klarinett. Publiken var tacksam och uppsluppen.

Det var en helt klar majoritet medelålders och en och annan Stockholms-kändis bla Robert Broberg. Gör som jag kommer göra i fortsättningen:

Kryp upp i soffan med en riktigt klassisk Woody Allen-rulle och hoppa över nästa jazzkonsert.

Well, there was the concert with Woody Allen and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra over.

Must admit that I 85% of the time thought about completely different things than focused listening to the amateur-like playing man Woody Allen. It was a hope that he would keep a little monologue on the mic between the songs, but I was wrong. Allen sat on his chair with legs crossed together with his more professional colleagues and played his pipe in 1.5 hours.

It was not because of the music I came to this event, I came because  Woody Allen, is professionally way, the best director I know and I wanted to see what he had to deliver on stage. No one can create dialogues and relationship dramas that he can with the mix of psychology, philosophy and identity issues, he often experiments with in his films.

On film, he shines and is often in the center of attention but tonight, on stage he seemed rather shy and would rather blend in with the band community by sitting on his chair and just play his clarinet.

The audience was grateful and exhilarated. It was an absolutely clear majority of middle-aged and celebritys from Stockholm, for example Robert Broberg.

Do what I will do next: Have a nice time in the sofa with a really classic Allen-movie and skip the next jazz concert.
